Lush Brighton believe in creating safe spaces representative of the world we live in and leaving the world Lusher than we found it. In July 2022, they hosted a clothes swap event raising funds for the incredible Clare Project, an organisation that creates support and social spaces for the Trans, Non Binary and Gender Non Conforming humans of Brighton. Raising funds for their neurodivergent services to continue to bring people together and create safe spaces for all.
“Our clothes, style and how we present ourselves is so important to our identity and how we navigate ourselves. Clothes have no gender and we want to champion the right for everyone to express themselves authentically. For the trans, non binary and gender non conforming community – finding clothes that feel like you in environments and retail spaces that cater for the heteronormative and cisgendered can be challenging. Our event allowed communities to come together in a safe and sustainable environment, where everyone could find their next favourite piece and champion others to do the same,” the Lush Brighton team explained.
