The funeral for John Thompson, co-founder of Snoopers Paradise will take place on Thursday the 30th March at Woodvale Crematorium at 12 noon.
Snoopers Paradise will be closed on Thursday as a mark of respect and to allow staff and stallholders to attend the service.
John and his father Frank founded the shop some 30 years ago and the big pink treasure trove has become a renowned destination for tourists and locals alike.
A statement from John’s family reads:
“Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday 15th March. His funeral will take place on Thursday 30th March at 12.00 noon at Woodvale Crematorium, North Chapel. We ask that everyone wears or carries a little something pink, a nod to John’s favourite colour. At John’s request, there will be family flowers only and any donations can be made to Sarcoma UK via JustGiving: tinyurl.com/mr3ws2r8”
For those who are unable to attend the funeral but wish to pay their respects, the funeral cortege will arrive at the top of North Road around 11am on Thursday before slowly passing down the street followed by some of John’s friends on motorbikes.
