This September (6th-25th) KMA Gallery launches two powerful, bold collections. Just in time to celebrate our late summer sun! Painters Sam Peacock and David Hayward take on the landscape and coastline with abstract vision, paying homage to the ebbs and flows of the earth with a focus on layers, textures and a vibrant palette.
These two contemporary artists offer an exciting discussion of process, thematic response and finish. David’s encaustic work never fails to delight, packed with vibrancy, marks and vivre, encapsulating fond memories of travel and cherished moments. Drawing inspiration from the topography of the Kent landscape. Whereas Sam’s work draws focus to the industrial materials and buildings found along coastal paths and celebrates the rich and unique histories of seaside towns. Introducing a new colour palette in this latest series, with recurring warm salmon pinks and cool dark blues to reflect coastal concrete.
