Join the wonderful Brunswick Fine Wines & Spirits team for an evening of wondrous Italian wines, from north to south, including Sicily.
Italy is home to a large number of grape varieties, including many which are rarely seen outside of the country. Brunswick Fine Wines are hosting a small event for 15 people at the New Road shop in Brighton, where the team will take you through 6 different Italian wines from some of the famous wine regions.
Featuring Northeastern Italy’s delicate white wine of Soave, made with Garganega grapes, and a full-bodied red made from Nebbiolo grapes in Barolo.
Also showcasing an Amarone della Valpolicella from north-west of Verona, made using Corvina grapes and the passito method, to concentrate its structure, colour and flavour.
You’ll taste a wonderfully smooth Vermouth from the Piemonte region, south of Turin… A mixture of 26 aromatic herbs and orange zest is macerated for almost 40 days then added to Chardonnay and Moscato, with a little sugar and alcohol, then aged for at least 4 months in very small stainless-steel tanks, then a final amount of burned sugar is added to give its distinctive amber colour. One of the Brunswick Team’s favourites!
From Central Italy, the team will showcase one of the so-called ‘Super Tuscans‘ from one of the most renowned producers, Ornellaia, which makes Bordeaux blends from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
And last but not least, from Southern Italy you’ll taste a red from the Etna DOC in Sicily, produced from old, low-yielding vines at high altitudes.

There will also be a discount on the night on purchases of any of the wines you’ve tasted.
