Share all the seasonal joy – and the street food – this Christmas at Wahaca!

Step in from the cold and get set for festive Mexican feasting like never before this Christmas at Wahaca. With a new seasonal sharing menu that’s the tastiest of treats for groups getting together throughout party season, as well as delicious street food specials using some of the freshest, most sustainable ingredients around, there’s something to suit all tastes at the Mexican-inspired restaurant group’s locations across the UK.

Tired of turkey? Making their debut for Christmas 2023, Ham Hock Tacos (£7.50) are the perfect alternative for anyone that’s bored of the bird. Soft corn tortillas are generously filled with Christmas spiced ham, with slaw, crema, pink pickled onions and crumbled crackling, making for a scrumptious seasonal street food dish that’s packed with festive flavours and textures. And for a marvellously Mexican twist on a Christmas dinner staple, Roast Potato Esquites (£6.95) sees crispy roasties indulgently topped with charred corn, jalapeño allioli,  crema and cheese. A tasty and comforting dish that’s Christmassy to the Mex!

Treat yourself to another newcomer to the Wahaca menu this winter, the tempting Toasted Corn Bread (£6.95) – topped with whipped goat’s curd and a chipotle glaze giving notes of sweetness and spice, with tortilla brittle adding a suitably satisfying crunch. And for a fruity finish to your Mexican feast, the Spiced Roast Pineapple (£6.95) is coated in cinnamon, served with vanilla ice cream and a house-made coconut crumb. An explosion of flavour with every bite!

We all know that party season is the perfect time to eat, drink and be merry – and you can do just that with friends, family or colleagues throughout December with Wahaca’s brand new Festive Feast Menu (£35 per person*). Get dipping with Guacamole and Smoky Sonoran Hummus, both served with home-made tortilla chips, and snack on Plantain and Chorizo Bites ahead of the main event, where your table will be decked out with everything you need for a sensational sharing extravaganza! Build your own tacos with a stack of warm, corn tortillas all set to be filled with Golden Roast Cauliflower or Christmas Ham Hock – served with a magnificent Crispy Crackling Crown.  Festoon your tacos with a selection of Salsas and all the trimmings (frijoles, pink pickled onion, coriander, lime and red onion), and get stuck into some top-notch sides – Roasted Potato Esquites and a medley of Winter Veg that combines grilled broccoli with winter kale in a zingy lime and mojo de ajo dressing. For the sweetest of festive finishes, the table will indulge in Churros and Sprinkles – crisp Mexican doughnuts dressed for the season with chocolate sauce, dulce de leche and coconut brittle. And round off your feast by raising a glass to shared celebrations with a choice of Gran Centenaro tequila or Cazcabel coffee tequila on the house. Feliz Navidad!

And finally, for a front row seat for London’s legendary fireworks, where better than New Year’s Eve at Wahaca Southbank? Perfectly positioned right by the river, visitors to the restaurant on the final night of the year will kick things off with a freshly-shaken margarita and enjoy a delicious New Year’s Eve feasting menu with wine served throughout, a premium 100% agave tequila or Cazcabel Coffee Tequila as well as a glass of fizz at midnight – right on cue for a spectacular view of the UK’s largest annual fireworks display as the clock strikes twelve. Tickets are priced at £199 per person and are available via Design My Night.
