Every industry has its awards season and for the hairdressing industry that time is now.
At the start of June we announced that Brighton’s Simon Webster Hair had won the Southern Region Award at the Grand Finals of the L’Oreal Colour Trophy, coming an incredible 3rd overall in the UK. It’s a competition that has over 5,000 entries nationwide, including representation from all the top salons. That’s a fantastic achievement for any salon, especially an independent, family-run business that only opened their doors five years ago. What was even more incredible, was that they had reached the Grand Finals and won for three years running.
Now for this popular local salon, three definitely is proving to be the magic number, as they proudly announced they have reached the final in two more of the industry’s most prestigious awards: the Salon Business Awards and the Creative Head ‘Most Wanted’ Awards.
The Salon Business Awards final takes place on 29th June and the salon has a strong chance in the category of Creative Salon, with a photographic entry of a style and colour inspired by the salon’s Specialist Colourist, Patrick Matthews’ visit to Table Mountain earlier in the year. He used the same Brighton model, Jade, that he won the UK Mizani Afro Styling Award for in 2015 for the salon.
Creative Head is to the hairdressing industry what Vogue is to the world of fashion. In the Autumn the salon will hear whether they have won the Creative Head ‘Most Wanted’ Award for the Best Salon Team in the UK at arguably the industry’s most highly-respected ceremony. Simon Webster Hair boasts an exceptionally talented team of stylists, colourists and hair artists that is widely-recognised as being one of the best across the country and this award would make it official. From their salon in Gardner Street, North Laine, the team thanked their supporters, clients and friends for their congratulations and support.

Yet another Grand Final is possibly round the corner too, with the team still waiting to hear whether they have reached the finals for the British Hairdressing Awards. We have everything crossed for them. Watch this space…
