Here’s our round-up of the best places to enjoy fish and chips in Brilliant Brighton this National Fish and Chip Day (2nd June) and beyond…

RYBKA

RYBKA is taken from an old polish saying: rybka lubi pływać (the fish likes to swim), which relates to the tradition of eating pickled fish with a generous chaser of frozen vodka – ‘because the fish likes to swim’. For National Fish & Chips Day, RYBKA are offering a free shot off frozen vodka for any customer, over 18, that has a fish super or fish supper for 2 and wishes the team a ‘happy National Fish and Chip Day’.

English’s of Brighton

English’s of Brighton is one of the oldest restaurants in Brighton, spanning what were originally three fisherman’s cottages which date back over 400 years. Seafood has been served on this site for over 150 years, and has been owned for by the Leigh-Jones family since 1945. Unsurprisingly, this lovely restaurant has caught the eye of many famous visitors including Dame Judi Dench, Twiggy and Joan Collins.

Tuck into their Sussex ale battered haddock loin and chips, served with mushy peas and tartare sauce inside their restaurant (take a seat at their stunning marble-topped oyster bar) or on sunny days, dine on their terrace (heated for not-so-warm days) and indulge as you watch the world go by in The Lanes.
