Bring some Mexican sunshine to the festive season throughout December at Wahaca. With shareable street food feasts and delicious new seasonal specials using some of the freshest, most sustainable ingredients around, as well as a party like no other on the biggest night of the year – it’s the perfect place to celebrate Christmas to the Mex.
Forget the tired turkey sandwiches on the supermarket shelves and treat your tastebuds to the Turkey Taquito (£7.50)! Taking culinary cues from both Mexico and Britain, it combines roast turkey with smoky bacon, chestnut, sage and cranberry stuffing in a crisp corn tortilla, topped with a sweet hibiscus salsa, fresh tomatillo guacamole and crema.
Bringing a dash of vibrant Mexican flavour to a celebrated Christmas classic, the Mince pie empanadas (£6.50) are two crispy, sugar-coated parcels packed with luxurious mezcal-soaked mincemeat and served with brandy butter ice cream. Warming, festive and full of Mexican flavour! And take a sip of seasonal cheer with the Festive Fizz (£7.25) – a lively mix of hibiscus with prosecco that’s certain to add some sparkle to taco feasts this December.
Talking of tacos, Wahaca’s Christmas feasting menus are just the ticket for seasonal get-togethers with family, friends or workmates. The Festive Feast (£25 per person) for two sees classic street food favourites such as Pork pibil tacos and Buttermilk chicken tacos, made with free range chicken and pork, joined by the Turkey taquito, Organic squash & feta tostadas, Crispy cauliflower bites and Chargrilled tenderstem broccoli – finished off with marvellously moreish Mince pie empanadas. A Veggie Feast (£25 per person) is also available, for a delicious, meat-free celebration.
For a front row seat for London’s legendary fireworks, where better than New Year’s Eve at Wahaca Southbank? Perfectly positioned right by the river, visitors to the restaurant on the final night of the year will kick things off with a freshly-shaken margarita and enjoy a delicious New Year’s Eve feasting menu, half a bottle of wine per person, a premium 100% agave tequila or Cazcabel Coffee Tequila as well as a glass of fizz at midnight – right on cue for a spectacular view of the UK’s largest annual fireworks display as the clock strikes twelve. Tickets are priced at £199 per person.
