Award-winning wine and spirits store Brunswick Fine Wines & Spirits are excited to invite you to their next tasting event on Thursday 2nd November, when they’ll be welcoming Champagne Henriot’s UK ambassador to the shop to introduce you to the wonders of Henriot.
Earlier this year the Brunswick team were lucky enough to be invited to a dinner celebrating Champagne Henriot, where they tasted some of their awesome cuvées, and have said this tasting event a must for Champagne lovers.
Established in 1808, Champagne Henriot is one of the rare Champagne houses that is completely independent, and which has remained in the hands of the same family throughout its long and illustrious history.
Henriot believe that their wines should age for as long as possible, with a minimum age of 15 months for a non-vintage and three years for a vintage. A comprehensive knowledge of the parcels, together with an ability to appreciate their aromatic nuances and analyse the scope of their vintage variation, are what have defined Henriot since its founding.
For Champagne Henriot, Chardonnay is king and makes up at least 50% of all of its wines. Henriot believes Chardonnay to be a symbol of the finesse and elegance that constitutes the very essence of the House. Standard bearer of Maison Henriot’s savoir-faire, their Blanc de Blancs delights with its astonishing complexity and length, with Henriot ageing their wines up to three times longer to allow the Chardonnay to reach its full expression.
Alice Tetienne is the current Cellar Master, having joined in April 2020. She is recognised as one of the leading winemakers in Champagne, and will be introducing participants to the following wines:
– Brut Souverain (from Magnum on arrival)
– Blanc de Blancs NV
– Rosé NV
– Millésime 2014 (new vintage)
– L’inattendue Grand Cru 2016 (Blanc de Blancs from Avize)
– Cuvée Hemera 2006
Good to know: The ticket price of £60 is fully refundable upon purchase of any mix of 6 bottles or more of the wines tasted on the evening.
