A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an organised and target-driven individual to join a well-respected,
independently run Brighton based gallery with global reach. This is a full time position that may include some home days and off-site meetings.
Kellie Miller Arts (KMA Gallery) is an award-winning, contemporary gallery located in the heart of Brighton’s prestigious Lanes. With a focus on original artworks, the gallery is host to a diverse selection of ceramics, sculpture and art in various mediums by established national and international artists.
As an artist-led space, we have forged a business that offers more than luxury to its clients. We are passionate about work that speaks of the artistic process, where the hand of the artist can be seen, and invite visitors and clients to share in our passion through artworks that are approachable, engaging and enjoyable, for a rewarding personal experience.
We are currently seeking a Duty Manager to join our team on a Full-Time basis. The right candidate would be someone with a bright personality, looking to contribute their knowledge, skills and expertise with the team, with an aim to facilitate growth within their role and for the business. Experience and confidence in sales, communications, and administration is crucial. The role will also involve working alongside our Marketing Manager to ensure the gallery’s brand voice and monthly goals are achieved, so having a good grasp of social media, marketing and branding would be essential.
The right candidate would be resourceful and self-motivated, confident in their ability to oversee the general operations of the gallery, whilst consistently closing sales and developing strong, long lasting client relationships. We’re looking for someone reliable and hard-working, with a ‘can-do’ attitude; well-presented and proficient in spoken and written English.
Applicants should be aware that this role requires the flexibility to support weekend work, preview events and exhibitions. Good knowledge of Google Suite or MS Office, as well as an understanding of artistic processes and the art world would be a distinct advantage. The right candidate would be a proficient communicator, confident in mediating the needs of clients, artists, team, and upper management.
Kellie Miller Arts is not only a must-see destination in Brighton, but also active within the international art market. With an online gallery shop and yearly arts events programme, the right candidate will be joining a successful independent company that has expansion and growth high on its agenda. Benefits include insight into the art world and art creation, performance-based commission opportunities and a pension scheme.
With a start date mid-February 2024, the position is outlined for 1 year’s maternity cover, however, there may be a possibility to extend the position.
