There will be smiles all round at Enter Gallery on Thursday 2nd September as we celebrate one of their leading artists, Ryan Callanan aka RYCA.
The event will take place at Enter Gallery on Bond Street, Brighton from 6-8pm on Thursday 2nd September
There will be free drinks on arrival (provided by ABYSS Brewery) and a chance to meet the artist himself.
The former sign writer and 3D model-maker has developed a distinctive style of art, combining contemporary pop culture with the iconic symbolism of traditional typography.
In homage to the lost art of pub signage, Ryan Callanan conveys his street-art inspired messages on hand-etched glass, set in ornate gilt frames, for an aesthetic that is at once modern and classical.
As RYCA, his artistic alter ego, Ryan Callanan also creates limited edition prints, which have a reputation for their high demand. These pop prints are known for their fusions of contemporary cultural iconographies, placing unexpected references in dialogue with one another for a novel take on the art of nostalgia.
