Lush launch exclusive bath bomb to support local LGBTQ+ charity during Brighton Pride

Lush Brighton will stock Rainbow Brighton, an exclusive charity bath bomb, to raise money for Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard during Brighton’s Pride festivities.

“We believe that all are welcome, always, and we are honoured to be working with Brighton and Hove’s oldest LGBTQ charity, Switchboard. A charity that has spent 40+ years not only providing support but empowering our LGBTQ community to realise their own unique potential. We at Lush Brighton are so proud to be a part of this vibrant, beautiful community. Always.”
Sophie Watson, Lush Brighton Manager

The limited edition Rainbow Brighton (£5.95 each) will be available to purchase in Lush’s Brighton shop on East Street. All proceeds of this bath bomb (minus VAT) will be donated to the Brighton and Hove LGBT Switchboard, a charity for LGBTQ people looking for community, support and information.

“Switchboard is so grateful to the Lush Brighton team for supporting in this way. Pride is a fantastic celebration of equality and diversity and what it means to identify as LGBTQ in 2018. Switchboard works all year round providing support in various ways to LGBTQ individuals in Brighton and Hove. One the projects that will be directly supported by the money raised from the sales of Rainbow Brighton will be our Rainbow Café. This is a new project that opened in 2018 to support LGBTQ people who are living with a diagnosis of dementia or worried about their memory. Rainbow Café provides a safe space every month for people to come together for support and to show that there is life beyond dementia.”
Daniel Cheesman, Chief Executive Officer of Switchboard

We’re here, we’re queer, we’re fizzing bath bombs, get used to it! Lemon myrtle and Sicilian lemon oils pave the Lanes to the bath. Pier into orange waters filled with sparkling positivity and support LGBTQ+ people of Brighton and Hove.

Lush has supported many different organisations throughout its 23 year history, including many grassroots LGBT+ organisations. In July 2015 All Out and Lush created the #GayIsOk campaign, one of the biggest LGBT conversations ever to be held on social media.

Lush customers also picked up and lathered with 107,479 sparkly gold bars of Love Soap. Even though over 80 Lush shops couldn’t sell the soap due to anti-gay legislation in their countries, thousands joined the cause and held out hands of support to LGBT people everywhere. The Love Fund swelled to a total of £275,955 – with the proceeds going to grassroots groups, collectives, charities, communities and activists working towards equality laws, acceptance and inclusion for LGBT individuals.
