Marking Mexico’s victory over French forces in 1862, Cinco de Mayo (5th May) is celebrated annually across North America – and is being increasingly embraced by fans of Mexican culture and cuisine on these shores too.
And, as a restaurant with its inspiration rooted so firmly in Mexico, Wahaca is flying the flag for this fabulous fiesta from 30th April – 5th May with two special feasting menus and, of course, margaritas all round!
Raise a glass to Cinco de Mayo in true Mexican style with a freshly-shaken margarita – available for just £5 from 3rd – 5th May when dining in at Wahaca. Adding some fire to the 5th is a new Picante margarita – Wahaca’s classic marg with a spicy kick and a chilli garnish. And those getting into the party spirit at home needn’t miss out with Wahaca’s bottled version of the Classic margarita (two for £15 via Deliveroo) delivered chilled and ready to pour over ice and enjoy.
Available for click & collect and delivery via Deliveroo, the new feasting menus for Cinco de Mayo have been specially created to mark the occasion – perfect for veggies and meat lovers alike to celebrate both Mexico’s big day and the gradual return to dining out once again.
The Favourites Feast for Two (£45) is a feast of fresh, vibrant street food, taking in much-loved Wahaca classics including Buttermilk chicken tacos and Pork pibil quesadilla – both made using free range British meat – and a Sweet potato & feta taquito, as well as the new Grilled Halloumi ‘al pastor’ tacos and some delicious side dishes. A Veggie Feast for Two (£45) is also available, with Plantain tacos, Black bean & three cheese quesadilla and Crispy cauliflower bites among the dishes making up a totally tasty meat-free feast. Both options also include Wahaca’s signature Chocolate & pecan brownie, served with irresistible dulce de leche sauce.
