New app for Bagelman, one of Brighton’s most loved lunch spots

Brighton’s ethical bagel makers, Bagelman, announces the launch of its new free app, which is one of many initiatives set to minimise its environmental impact.

The app, available to all smartphone users, allows customers to collect loyalty card points digitally, further reducing the business’s paper use. The app will also improve customer experience with its pre-order and pay function, allowing users to beat the queue and save time, particularly during the peak lunch rush.

Other initiatives from Bagelman that are focused on reducing the company’s environmental footprint include it being the city’s first brand to adopt fully compostable coffee cups. It has also worked with its suppliers to significantly reduce the amount of packaging its goods are delivered in. Bagelman also diverts its leftover bread into ‘The Optimist’ craft beer in partnership with Franklin Brewery, which has helped the business reach its zero to landfill target.

Anthony Prior, Bagelman managing director, said: “The app development is a big step for us and the latest, but not the last, in a series of green and ethical business initiatives. We’ve received some amazing feedback on the changes we’ve made so far from our customers, and we’re excited to be able to give everyone who continues to support our modifications a little thank you in the form of a free bagel!”

The app can now be downloaded free, from the Google Play and iPhone app stores.
