Ollie Quinn Unveils Autumn/Winter 2017 Eyewear Collection

Independent eyewear brand, Ollie Quinn (OQ), launches their Autumn/Winter 2017 eyewear collection — the brand’s second line following the company’s launch earlier this year. This season’s collection features oxblood, amber and emerald frames in a variety of styles to complement your seasonal wardrobe.

Each individually cut, hand-polished frame is designed by OQ’s product team in collaboration with renowned European designer, Sebastien Brusset.

“We update our wardrobe to account for seasonal changes and moods, and we believe eyewear has become an important extension of personal style and expression ,” says Roz Baaijen, OQ Product Lead.

“For Winter, we wanted to create a collection that complements chunky knits, wools and trench coats in line with this season’s must-have colours. We’re playing with a mixture of warm, earthy tones like jade and emerald, deep reds and amber yellows, including acetate colourways unique to OQ.”

By designing in-house, cutting prescription lenses locally and working directly with manufacturers, OQ has removed the need for intermediaries and mark-ups, providing the highest quality product at one fair price: £98.

The OQ team has created an agile development process with ‘responsive design’ at its core; customer and community feedback is promptly integrated within each new frame OQ creates.

“ Our direct, global supply chain and agile approach to design means we have developed one of the fastest production cycles in the eyewear industry, without mass producing ,” says Baaijen.

“ This means we can ensure we’re designing for our communities – we can adapt as they do.”

The AW17 collection predominantly features high-quality, individually cut acetate, which means no two frames are the same. OQ will also be releasing an updated stainless steel metals collection mid-season.

OQ frames are created with the brand’s customers and friends in mind. In fact, all frames are named after team members and friends with important roles in the OQ community.

OQ’s operational model is defined as Glocal — that is, “Think Global and Act Local ” . With founders from Canada, Australia and South Africa, and boutiques located across Canada and the United Kingdom, OQ aims to source the best materials and talent around the globe while retaining local roots through regional suppliers and community input.
