The Team at Simon Webster Hair are always coming up with new ways to support the local community, whether it’s fundraising for the Real Junk Food Project, sponsoring the Brighton leg of the Baton of Hope suicide prevention campaign or recycling their waste with the help of the Green Salon Collective and One Brighton.
This month, they launched their latest initiative in collaboration with Brighton Women’s Centre, providing support and advice to vulnerable women and self-identifying women in the Brighton area. The SWH Pay It Forward initiative provides free blow-dries in a safe environment for the women who BWC work with, with the aim of delivering some much-needed normality and self-care during what can be a traumatic time.
You can support the Simon Webster Hair Pay It Forward campaign by donating just £10. SWH Team will match your donation and provide a complimentary blow-dry (among other services) to Brighton Women’s Centre, to be redeemed by the women receiving support there. The SWH initiative was launched at the start of December but is ongoing. And the team are hoping that it will gain momentum among clients and non-clients alike.
Co-Founder of Simon Webster Hair, Sophie Webster, said “We’ve worked a lot with Brighton Women’s Centre over the years and the services they provide are so important to the women and their families. We wanted to be able to contribute on a more regular basis, and the Pay It Forward idea developed as a sustainable way for us to do that. It’s really simple to get involved. You can donate a blow-dry for just £10 by popping into the salon or going online to purchase a Pay It Forward Blow-Dry. Then we donate the same funding and each month the women who access the BWC services can benefit from complimentary services with us. We’re really hoping that this initiative will prove popular with our clients. But it’s not exclusive to people who visit our salon and anyone can go online to purchase a blow-dry to be donated. It’s just £10 and an opportunity for us all to do something together that can make a real difference.”
