On Saturday 17th February, our Brilliant Brighton Ambassadors went on patrol – with a few surprises!
Throughout Random Acts of Kindness Day, the team gave out gifts (including chocolate from Choccywoccydoodah, tea treats from Bluebird Tea Co., bath goodies from Lush and delicious fudgy delights from Roly’s Fudge) all with the aim of ‘Brightoning up people’s days.
“We loved getting involved with Random Acts of Kindness Day,” Ambassador Kat Bradshaw-Denton says, “It was really lovely to see the smiles on the shocked recipients’ faces and spread a little bit of joy on a sunny February Saturday!”
One of the four surprised shoppers tweeted: “@BrightonAmbsdrs thank you for thinking of me with your act of kindness! You’ve made my day.”

The Ambassadors play an important role within the service the BID (also known as Brilliant Brighton) offers.
Each day, the four Ambassadors on duty support our 517 businesses by offering security and friendly faces to report any issues to.
Regularly liaising with a range of council departments, the BID Ambassadors help to improve and influence the attractiveness of the BID area – be that by putting in a call to City Clean to see if they can assist in the removal of graffiti to alerting the appropriate team that a street light needs repairing, fly tipping has occurred or if there is evidence of illegal street trading taking place. As well as giving direct support to BID businesses, our Ambassadors help the public to signpost them to stores and attractions – further making Brighton a welcoming city to visit.
