Exhibition takes place 6th Feb to 4th March 2024
This February KMA Gallery welcomes art collectors and lovers to stop by and view two powerful, bold collections from female artists Jules Allan and Rachel Williams.
New Zealand born, Rachel Williams, fearlessly demonstrates her extraordinary ability to combine textile and mixed print techniques. With this series of work, she explores the notion of how museums move objects from one place to another, therefore containing and displaying the artefacts of the world. With her striking use of medium and colour, Rachel’s work is sure to awe.
A British painter, Jules Allan’s new collection is lusciously free and expressive with undulating layers and enticing textures. Her work portrays the vulnerability of the human body translated into abstract forms and movement, as well as showcasing her signature approach to materials, often combining a variety of mediums such as paint, inks, plaster and stitching. Featuring a considered palette of dark blues and greens against the introduction of uplifting peach hues, each piece has an irresistible and uniquely captivating energy. Perfect for that loving season!
These exciting collections are beautifully curated across two floors at Kellie Miller Arts, 20 Market Street.
