International Women’s Month exhibit at Kellie Miller Arts

This March KMA Gallery welcomes art collectors and lovers to stop by and view a selection of original artworks by the gallery’s large stable of women artists, including a new collection from painter Jane Skingley.

Kellie Miller Arts’ are proud that female artists form 58% of the artists they represent and nine out of ten of their top-selling artists. They are also a predominantly female-run business, and feel strongly about championing gender equality in the arts.

British painter Jane Skingley’s enticing new still life paintings ground their women focused presentation with gentle encouragement to slow down and appreciate the simple moments in life. These delicate oil works of hand-picked wildflower arrangements gathered on her walks, shine the spotlight on plants like stitchwort, celandine, oxeye daisy and ragwort, encouraging us to consider the impermanence of nature and being present in our lives.

Also on view are a recent collection of abstract paintings by British artist Jules Allan, contemporary raku busts by French ceramicist Melanie Bourgét, textile and mixed media works by New Zealand artist Rachel Williams and figurative paintings by British artist Carolyn Bew, among many others.

These exciting collections are beautifully curated across two floors at Kellie Miller Arts, 20 Market Street, until 3rd April.
