With National Vegetarian Week in full swing, we thought we’d round up a few of our favourite Brighton Veggie spots – great for veggies, vegans and those who fancy trying something new!
Brighton is known for being a Mecca for Vegans & Vegetarians – so much so, our seaside city has in fact been named the country’s Vegetarian capital. And with a plethora of vegetarian – and vegan – restaurants, cafes and delis, across the city; we can certainly see why.

With a signature dish of homemade, cooked-to-order hot vegan falafel; FilFil’s been a firm veggie (and vegan) favourite hotspot for years. Go for a tasty falafel wrap or tub, or if you’re feeling extra hungry; opt for a mouthwatering mezze. WAI KIKA MOO KAU
Located in the heart of bustling North Laine, Wai Kika Moo Kau offers a great selection of delicious veggie and vegan treats – from breakfasts and lunches, to cakes and wine. All food is cooked in the charming café’s kitchen, using local produce where possible. Can’t find a seat inside? Pull up a pew in the outside seating area and enjoy people watching as you tuck into your tofu wrap. Bliss.

Looking for a tasty, healthy, quick vegetarian lunch? Look no further than Iydea! Iydea offers a huge variety of freshly prepared hot and cold vegetarian meals served in seconds, so you can make the most of your lunchtime. Iydea’s owner created the much-loved cafe and ‘servery’, after feeling frustrated that there was nowhere to go to grab real food fast. Now, the veggie establishment is one of the busiest Brighton lunchtime spots – thanks to delicious dishes such as veggie lasagne, enchiladas and curries.

TERRE A TERRE
Describing their food as ‘world class flesh free fare with flare’, Terre a Terre is one of Brighton’s most iconic and acclaimed restaurants – where vegetarianism is more about indulgence than abstinence. THE REAL JUNK FOOD PROJECT
The Real Junk Food Project Brighton is part of the Real Junk Food Project network, created by Adam Smith. It is a national and international movement of cafes, projects and pop-ups with one core objective: To intercept food waste destined for land fill and use it to feed people who need it, on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis.

The first vegan fast food burger place in the world serving colour burgers. Flower burger offers exclusively vegan burger of an array of delicious flavours with their line up including the Jungle Burger, a red bean and oat patty in a green bun made with turmeric and spirulina, with lettuce, tomatoes, oven-baked courgettes, flower cheddar and a smoky BBQ sauce. The burgers also come with a fantastic selection of sides such as potato wedges and edamame.

THE VURGER CO.
No vegetarian and vegan round-up would be complete without The Vurger Co. Priding themselves on ‘soul satisfying vegan fast food’, The Vurger Co was born out of a desire to provide delicious plant based burgers to those in London, and now Brighton (and beyond!). They have hand crafted every single burger with delicious vegetables taking the limelight.
